Visit of Senior Event Advisors in Przeworsk and Surroundings – Preparations for the 2026 World Masters Orienteering Championships in Full Swing
From September 27 to 30, 2024, as part of the preparations for the 2026 World Masters Orienteering Championships, Przeworsk and its surrounding areas hosted Julie and Ronan Cleary, Senior Event Advisors appointed by the Foot-O Commission of the International Orienteering Federation (IOF). The visit aimed to assess the venues and facilities that will be used during the upcoming championships.
During their four-day stay, together with Marcin Leśnicki, Director of the World Championships, and Stanisław Leśnicki, Logistics Director of the event, the IOF guests visited key locations, including the areas around Przeworsk and Rzeszów, which will be used for the competition.
As part of the visit, Julie and Ronan Cleary also met with the Mayor of Przeworsk, Leszek Kisiel, and the Mayor of Gać, Łukasz Pieniążek, who confirmed their full support for the organization of the championships. The importance of the UKS Azymut Dębów club – the organizer of the event – was also emphasized, and it was assured that local authorities would cooperate on logistical and promotional matters to ensure the best possible conditions for hosting the event at the highest level.

We are ready to support UKS Azymut Dębów and provide all the necessary resources to ensure that the 2026 World Masters Orienteering Championships will be unforgettable for both the competitors and the spectators,” said Leszek Kisiel, Mayor of Przeworsk.
The meetings and site visits in Przeworsk and the surrounding areas were a key step in preparing for one of the most important sporting events in the region.
